Classes:

The first year here at Optimus University you are required to take eight core classes. All freshmen will be taking their choice of classes from the categories of math, science, business, English, psychology, government/history, and art. Our theory behind these eight core classes is to create a well-rounded student at the beginning of their college career.

Seventy-five percent of our classes will be taught in a classroom environment with and instructor wither present or lecturing the class. It will be taught through the newest forms of technology (newest computers, multiple models and types of software, and simulations). Then twenty-five percent of the class will be experience-based learning through excursions, field studies, and work force based education.

An example of this type of class is Biology 211-environmental ecosystem. Seventy-five percent of this class will be in the classroom learning where each student creates an ecosystem. Each step of this class is essential to the end experience based learning aspect. Three tasks must be completed in the classroom portion. The students must attend lectures by the teacher—one source of knowledge—that give a grand basis of what ecosystems entail. The next task is to research this on their own. This is where technology acts as the source of knowledge. And finally, the students are then asked to create their own ecosystems using the simulations software encompassing all of their knowledge on the subject. Next, the twenty-five percent of the class will be having the student learning through experience-based learning. They are asked to a local ecosystem where their findings and observations in the classroom are seen in the community. Taking what you learn in the classroom and applying it to the field.

Not only do we offer only the best hands on technology and experience, but we think that our students deserve to learn with an open mind. We think that by making our classrooms bright and open it will help students think outside of the box versus being inside a white cell as a classroom.
